María Teresa Pino

Dr. María Teresa Pino, she is agronomist (UFRO, Chile). In 2006, she received a PhD  in Horticulture (Biotechnology and plant physiology) in Oregon State University (USA).

Dr. María Teresa Pino, she is agronomist (UFRO, Chile). In 2006, she received a PhD  in Horticulture (Biotechnology and plant physiology) in Oregon State University (USA). In 2022, Diploma in Business and Management of Innovative Companies (U. de Los Andes). Actually, she is the Officer for International Cooperation in INIA Chile. She has focused her work on new global challenges for agriculture, including raw materials for food ingredients and their adaptation to climate change. She open new topics on R+D+i in INIA Chile, such as adaptation to climate change in crops by breeding programs (2008-2018). Research in food, natural ingredients, and natural colors (National head of Food Area 2016-2021). She received an IICA reward as leader women in agriculture science for Latin America (2017). INIA GUARDIANES de la MESA award (2021 and 2017). The FONTAGRO Award forThe FONTAGRO Award for Scientific Excellence (2014), as research leader for international grant in climate change adaptation.  She has authored or coauthored several publications (scientific, proceeding and extension). She has been part of the registry of new potato varieties and industrial secret in potato natural ingredients.
