Franco Faccennini

He has a degree in philosophy from the University of the Republic (Uruguay) and is the director of Celinco S.A, a company dedicated for more than 30 years to the international trade of seed potatoes. Celinco S.A  is the official agent for Visser Produce (Canada) in Latin America, and HZPC in Uruguay. Franco has more than 10 years of experience in the potato world, having worked for HZPC in the Netherlands and Argentina before finally settling down in Uruguay where, since then, he has introduced and developed various potato varieties for the fresh market. In addition, he has successfully entered the Brazilian market with industrial varieties. Winner of a seed capital fund for entrepreneurs in 2018, his commercial activity has tended to the design and execution of projects of various kinds, including a potato processing venture for the gastronomic sector. In recent years, Franco has led the process for the homologation of phytosanitary requirements between the SAG and the MGAP to enable seed potato trade between Chile and Uruguay.
