David Ramírez is an ecologist who leads the Crop Ecophysiology and Modeling Laboratory of the International Potato Center (CIP).

David Ramírez is an ecologist who leads the Crop Ecophysiology and Modeling Laboratory of the International Potato Center (CIP). His research consists of identifying and measuring key functional processes at the leaf, plant and ecosystem scales, with the aim of improving crop intensification through better water management for adaptation to climate change. David has authored or co-authored 49 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including his participation in articles published in Nature and Science. He is visiting professor of the «Doctoral Program in Water Resources» of the Universidad Nacional Agraria-La Molina in Peru. He is a Biologist from this University and obtained a Doctorate in «Restoration of Ecosystems and Biological Diversity» from the University of Alicante-Spain
